For help with your account, subscription, or mileage records, email kucheruvim00@gmail.com. If you use a TestFlight version, you can also open TestFlight → Field Miles → Send Beta Feedback.
In Field Miles, Settings → Help & privacy → Report a bug lets you describe the problem, preview a report, and choose where to save or share it. Nothing is sent automatically. Include what you expected, what happened, your app build, and whether the issue happened with the screen locked. Leave passwords, recovery codes, account tokens, and private addresses out of the report.
For support or privacy questions, email kucheruvim00@gmail.com. Field Miles is operated by Ruvim Labs. You can request account deletion on the web or delete your account from Account → Delete account.
Sign-in and your own account
Do I need Site Clock or ChatGPT to use Field Miles?
No. Choose Create account and use your own Field Miles email and password. You can save favorites, import trips, and track personal and business miles. Site Clock is optional. Existing users of the earlier beta can transfer their records once on the Field Miles website.
I forgot my password or sign-in failed
On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot password? Use a recovery code. Enter the recovery code saved when you created the account or last changed its password. Field Miles does not currently send password-reset emails. If you normally use Site Clock, choose Use my Site Clock account with that account's credentials.
Record the exact error without including credentials. Avoid creating a second account if you are trying to recover an existing mileage log.
Automatic tracking
Does it record with the phone locked?
The installed iPhone app can record while the phone is locked after you sign in, choose an active plan, and complete location setup. Keep Auto drive detection enabled and allow Precise Location. Use Pause when you want tracking off; it stays paused until you resume.
For automatic recovery, choose Always location access and keep Precise Location and Background App Refresh on. iOS controls when the app wakes, so uninterrupted recording is not guaranteed. Reopen Field Miles after force-quitting it or restarting your phone, and check Recording details for warnings. A browser tab or home-screen web shortcut must stay visible and cannot reliably record with the screen locked.
Does my mileage save while the app is in the background?
The current iPhone app can upload queued locations in the background when a connection is available. Locations stay on the phone until the server confirms them. iOS controls transfer timing, so uploads do not follow a guaranteed daily schedule. Check Settings → Recording → Recording details to see background sync and any pending locations.
If an upload needs attention, reopen the app, reconnect, and use Retry sync. Older app versions may need to be open to finish syncing; keep Field Miles up to date.
A drive is missing or the distance looks wrong
- Open Settings → Recording → Recording details. Check permission, precise location, and whether tracking is paused.
- Reconnect to the internet and use Settings → Recording → Retry sync. Wait for queued locations to upload before signing out.
- Review the trip for a recording gap. Very short movements can fall below drive-detection thresholds. You can add a missing trip or correct its mileage manually.
Do not drive while reviewing or changing settings. Check completed trips for missing stops or recording gaps before relying on a mileage report.
Why is a work trip still marked To review?
Uncertain locations, incomplete recordings, overlapping places, and ordinary home-to-work travel need your decision. With Out-of-town work journeys enabled, a saved business jobsite at least 50 miles from your confirmed home can identify the full outbound and return journey, including connected fuel and rest stops. This is a classification rule, not a tax eligibility threshold. Your corrections always take priority. Open the trip to see its explanation, then choose the category and business purpose. A business label organizes your records; it does not establish tax deductibility.
Favorites and imports
Why does my route appear without streets?
Your route and saved location pins can be shown without sending map requests to another service. Open the trip and choose Load street map after reading the disclosure. OpenStreetMap receives your IP address and the map areas you view. You can choose Hide street map at any time. The same choice is available when previewing a work matching radius.
How do I find street addresses for my recorded stops?
Open Settings → Address lookup and read the sharing details before enabling it. With your permission, Field Miles sends trip endpoint coordinates and saved addresses to Photon, run by komoot, to find street addresses and location pins. Your name, email and full route are not sent. You can turn it off there at any time. Recording and manually entered addresses still work with lookup off.
How do I bring places or trips from another app?
Use Settings → Import & backup. Choose favorite places, trips, or the Everlance importer. Upload a CSV or JSON file, review the preview and any warnings, then confirm. Everlance requires its Trips CSV with Miles and YYYY-MM-DD dates. Upload up to a full year at once: up to 25,000 trips and 25 MB in one Everlance file. Larger files can be split into date ranges.
Imported trips are manual entries. Routes, map links, receipt images, and GPS evidence are not transferred. Repeating the same file skips previously imported content; changing source values may create a new record.
What happens to inactive or deleted Site Clock jobsites?
The address stays in Field Miles for future visits, with its existing trip rule. Past jobsites remain searchable in Saved places and trip location menus. Disconnecting Site Clock keeps the saved copies. Field Miles never deletes your earlier mileage because a Site Clock job changed status.
Export or delete your records
Reports can export personal, business, or all trips for a selected date range and vehicle. Settings → Import & backup → Download my records saves a JSON copy of saved trips, places, and preferences. Check the saved file before relying on it; raw capture batches and unfinished recordings are not included.
To close your account, choose Account → Delete account, verify your identity, and confirm deletion. The process removes your active Field Miles records and this device's pending recordings. Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage or cancel it with Apple to stop future billing. You can delete your account immediately even if a subscription is still active. Your Site Clock account remains separate. Other devices, exported files, and operational backups have separate limits described in Privacy.
If deletion is interrupted, reopen the app on the same device and use the pending deletion screen to retry. Keep the page open until it confirms completion. Older native builds may need an update before they can erase the local recording queue safely.
